Police are investigating a crash in which a woman died and her son was taken to a hospital as a possible hit-and-run.
Police say Evelyn Agyei, 51, lost control of her vehicle as she drove west on Boston Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
Passerby Jimmy Lopez says he found the vehicle smashed into a tree while it was still dark. He saw the driver and her 11-year-old son, who was able to get out of the vehicle.
"He said to me, 'Someone hit my mother's car,'" says Lopez, who called police. "When I saw the kid grab me and give me a hug, I felt so bad. I'm still shaken."
The boy was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department at 203-581-5100.
