A Darien man accused of a hate crime against a cab driver pleaded not guilty today.
Police say William Jennings, 47, stabbed a Middle Eastern driver in the hand and shouted racial slurs after fighting over a $200 cab fare from New York to Darien in December.
Jennings' lawyer says his client was defending himself after the driver tried driving back to New York with Jennings inside.
