The family of a Bronx teen who died after falling three floors from an apartment building is looking for answers in their son's death.
Witnesses say 17-year-old Desean Ferrari was locked out of his parent's Vyse Avenue home around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday so he climbed down a thin wire to get inside, but somehow fell, hitting an air-conditioning unit and a fence before fatally landing on the ground.
"I was so shocked, I was at the graduation, the whole graduation stopped. I had to get my kids, I was running," Desean's mother Rakeya Jones says.
Memorials set up outside both the Jones' Vyse Avenue home and Dsean's grandmother's apartment building continue to grow for the young man many referred to as "Day-day."
But as his family mourns his death, they are speculating what really happened.
"Come on, no, they killed my son, they killed my son," Rakeya Jones says.
Jones says the night before her son fell he received a death threat from someone in the neighborhood.
"My baby told me he was scared. He didn't even go outside the next day," she says.
Police say the Bronx teen fell while trying to climb into his apartment through the window by using a wire, but his aunt says that is something her nephew would never do.
"We just want justice or something because if something happened to him, we want to know about it and if he died in peace, we want to know about it so we can go on."
Police confirmed Friday they are not investigating the case as a homicide.
