Customers at Remo's Pizza in Stamford had to scramble to the back of the restaurant for safety last night after a Jeep outside blew up.
Stamford fire officials say they were called to put out a car fire on Bedford Street around 9:15 p.m.
That is when they discovered the fire was caused by an electrical explosion under the car.
They called Connecticut Light & Power to cut power to the area and evacuate several buildings.
