Officials say they are urging municipalities to create interim recovery committees as the amount of cases per day in the state goes down.
Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi shared his battle with coronavirus, saying he was on oxygen for eight days but was able to recover.
Gov. Ned Lamont also says he's urging local governments and community partners to establish committees to address recovery efforts.
Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz will be taking a leading role in coordinating the efforts and holding organizational meetings for communities.
 
BRIEFING NOTES:
- There are 26,767 positive cases of coronavirus in the state, with 455 new cases since Tuesday. There have been 2,168 virus-related deaths, with 79 new deaths.
- Hospitalizations have gone down in the state, with a net decrease of 41 since Tuesday. There are 1,691 people hospitalized due to coronavirus.
- There have been 94,818 coronavirus tests performed in the state, with 2,073 new tests since Tuesday.
- Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi discussed his own personal struggle with coronavirus, and says the state should focus on reopening the economy when the time is right. "Let's do it once, do it right," he says.
- Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz says that the Council of Small Towns, Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and the Connecticut Conference of Governments will be teaming up to urge communities to create interim recovery committees. She says each municipality will choose a coordinator for the recovery effort, which will then pick community partners that include businesses, philanthropic groups and community groups.
