One of Milord’s bravest returned home from military deployment in Qatar.

Zak Daniel spent six months overseas serving in the Air Force.

The Fire Department has flown a service star flag at headquarters since he deployed, and Tuesday, they lowered the flag and recognized his service.

"This is that final step, we finally get one of our own members back,” says Cpt. Greg Carman. “The flag that we've had up for the last 6 months always indicates a family member serving overseas. The fire department, we all consider ourselves family, we're all involved in each other's lives and to have him back safely and back with us again is very important."

Daniel served as a firefighter at the base in Qatar.
