The weaker economy has Lushe?s Sono Diner in South Norwalk drastically changing the way it does business.
Lushe Gjuraj, the diner?s owner, has decided to let the customer pick their own prices for any item on the menu. She says she got the idea after learning about a restaurant in England that did something similar. Gjuraj says the diner has lost a lot of money since opening two months ago and hopes the monthlong experiment will bring new customers.
?Long-term, we're going to build some customer relations,? says Gjuraj, who will allow customers to pay less than full price.
The owner says she has one expectation of customers: she wants them to tip based on the prices on the menu.
The choose-your-own price promotion starts April 1.
