The Norwalk Police Department hosted a charity hockey game Saturday night at the SoNo Ice House to benefit Lt. Tim Murphy.
As News 12 Connecticut has reported, Murphy retired last month and was diagnosed with cancer just two days later. He served on the department for nearly 33 years.
Murphy says he is overwhelmed by the community's support.
The police department has also set up a fund to help with Murphy's medical expenses.
