Norwalk police are asking the public for help solving a missing persons case that dates back 40 years.
As News 12 has reported, Maria Anjiras was last seen leaving her home on Midwood Road on Feb. 12, 1976. She was 14 years old.
Police released age progression photos Wednesday of what she could look like now, at age 54.
Lt. Art Weisgerber says he hopes posting the case on Facebook will generate new leads. He says the case was initially investigated as a runaway, but police started to investigate if she was abducted or if any type of foul play was involved.
Weisgerber says some of Anjirus' old friends have been interviewed in hopes of generating new leads.
Norwalk police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
