Stratford police say the body of a woman washed ashore Monday morning near First Avenue and Beach Drive.
A 911 call reporting the body was made around 9:30 a.m. Police say it has been difficult pinpointing the victim's age, but they believe she was between 30 and 50 years old. They add that a cellphone was found on the body.
Marine units from Bridgeport and Stratford responded to the scene. Chopper 12 was above the seawall as police taped off and secured the area.
