Bridgeport police say an argument over a cigarette led to a shooting Thursday evening in the Park City's west side.
According to police, the incident began around 5:30 p.m. when two men, one eating and the other smoking, were standing in front of 29 Sherwood Ave. The man who was eating, identified as 30-year-old Alphonso Puzie, told the other man the smoke was ruining his lunch, and that's when police say the confrontation became violent.
Puzie allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the smoking man in the arm. Police say he ran from the scene toward Laurel Avenue while the victim made his way back to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, where he had planned to stay that night.
Police say the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
Anyone with information on Puzie's whereabouts is asked to call Bridgeport police.
