Fairfield police are warning community members about a jury duty caller scam.
They say the caller claims to be a member of law enforcement, and tells residents they have failed to appear for jury duty, failed the answer a court summons or have an active warrant for their arrest.
The caller then asks the person to pay a fine through pre-paid cards, gift cards or wire transfer.
Police say authentic jury duty notifications, as well as no-show summonses, are nearly always delivered by mail.
