Religious leaders gathered outside of Bridgeport police headquarters Thursday in honor of George Floyd.
Dozens of people turned out at the Bridgeport Police Department for a peaceful demonstration inspired by the memory of George Floyd.
El Shadei Church of God in the city's North End teamed up with Summerfield United Methodist Church on the East End of Bridgeport.
Organizers say they're keeping the focus on community solidarity and non-violent demonstration in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Police stood shoulder to shoulder with city leaders and members of the community.
Rev. Dr. Herron K Gaston thanked the community for choosing peaceful protest over violence.
