State police say Scott James White was driving a Honda Pilot EXL south, a mile north of Hayden Road, when it struck a wooden post and wire rope guard rail on the westbound shoulder.

A Harwinton man was killed in a crash Friday along Route 222.
State police say Scott James White was driving a Honda Pilot EXL south, a mile north of Hayden Road, when it struck a wooden post and wire rope guard rail on the westbound shoulder.
The vehicle was engulfed in flames after it hit a sign, a farm stand and finally a tree at 325 Hill Road.
White was pronounced dead at the scene.
