A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington is in Connecticut this week.
It's at Veterans Park in Bridgeport where everyone can see it.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund started the Wall of Healing in 1996, and it has travelled all over the country.
This is the Wall's second stop this year in Connecticut.
Wednesday Veterans from Port 5 National Association of Naval Veterans in Black Rock came together to build the 375 foot replica of the Vietnam War Memorial.
"This Wall, being a helicopter crew chief, I carried a lot of these names and people that were killed in Vietnam I carried a lot of them on my helicopter," said U.S. Marine veteran Bill Repko.
The wall lists the names of the 58,000 Americans who died in that war.
"I think its super important to be reminded of why we have these freedoms and unfortunately it’s the names on the wall that keep that reminder for us," said U.S. Army Veteran Edward Rivera.
It’s a chance for those who can't get to Washington to see it. "It's very important for those veterans to have a place to come and see people's names on the wall that they may know. I know personally some veterans from Port 5 that know quite a few names on that wall, and this is a healing process for them," said Brian Turco with the Port 5 National Association of Naval Veterans.
In another corner of Veterans Park, Veterans are putting flags in the ground to pay tribute to all those we have lost. "Honor and respect for what they did," said Repko.
