The two Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate seat are making a final push in their campaigns Monday before the Connecticut primary.
A new Quinnipiac University poll released Monday shows challenger Ned Lamont ahead of incumbent Senator Joe Lieberman by 6-percentage points. Last week?s poll had Lamont leading by 13 points.
Lamont was getting some campaign help from his parents at the Norwalk Senior Center. Both Ted and Buz Lamont say the senior vote is very important and are urging as many people as possible to get out and vote.
Liberman made more than a dozen stops across Connecticut, vowing to talk to as many voters as possible before Tuesday's primary. He started in New Haven and made stops in Enfield, Hartford and Meriden.
Both candidates plan to campaign throughout the day Tuesday. Senator Lieberman has said he will run as an independent if he loses the primary.
